Barcelona have yet again lost one of their most promising young talents to the Premiership on a free (Fabregas, Fran Merida, Pique).
Liverpool have signed Dani Pacheco (nicknamed "The Killer" by his teammates). He shunned Barca's offer of a professional contract and arrives on a free with us. The half Spanish/half Czech striker is widely reputed to be one of Europe's hottest young prospects but at 16 years of age it'll be another couple of years before we get any chance to see him play for the first team.
Liverpool have been busy recruiting a number of youth players this summer, so far there's been Alex Kacaniklic, Marvin Purie, Mikel San Jose, Nikolai Mihailov, Krisztian Nemeth, Andras Simon and now of course Pacheco.
It's been quite a while since a youngster broke through at Anfield, but hopefully with all the youth signings made, one or two will make the step up in the not too distant future.
