A Premier League inquiry which lasted 2 days has ruled against Heinze joining Liverpool. The arbitration panel decided that a letter signed by David Gill didn't constitute a definitive undertaking from Manchester United to offload the player. United also claim to have made it clear both verbally and in writing that he wouldn't be permitted to join a title rival.
However, despite the procrastinations and showboating of the panel, Heinze remains hopeful and appealed to his employers, “My idea has not changed and my objective is to go to Liverpool, I will always be grateful to United, but now I hope they allow me to get my wish.”
