Benayoun follows in the footsteps of giants

A while ago I joked about how all we needed was for Benayoun to carry on the new boys tradition (Voronin, Torres, Babel) of scoring superb first goals for Liverpool. Against Reading he didn't disappoint and went on an excellent run before smashing the ball into the roof of the net, what a goal !

As for Hobbs, he didn't get quite the debut expected (pitiful few minutes), Leto and Leiva showed some lovely touches, Itandje was a mixed bag with some excellent saves but at fault for Reading's second goal.

With Pennant in such good form I imagine it'll be a while before we get to see Benayoun again, shame given his sheer class and creativity, but with Benitez you just never know what team he'll pick on the day.
