Despite Benitez saying that he won't sell Crouchie, it looks as if his hand may be forced given that the player is stalling on the offer of a new 3 year contract. To be fair to the player you can't really blame him, he must be confused about how he fits in these days, he's only had several minutes of Premier League football (hasn't even made the squad for 3/4 of those games) so far this season and a single champions league game.
Juventus and Manchester City are believed to be his main suitors. Unless injured I can't see him displacing Torres, Voronin or Kuyt. If he does go in January, I hope Craig Lindfield gets the call up as opposed to Benitez hitting the transfer market again.
