In recent seasons we've been the better side on the pitch but sadly the Mancs have a habit of scoring a goal against the run of play. Yesterday we pretty much dominated the game, some might say we lacked a cutting edge in the final third but credit to United I think they contained us quite well also.
I'm sure there's plenty of doom merchants who think our chances of winning the Premiership are all but lost but that makes little sense to me at this stage of the season. Points wise we're still in a healthy position with a game in hand. As long as the lads don't let this result kill their confidence we should be able to enter the new year within several points of Arsenal & ManUre. Winning the Premiership is still a realistic target for us.

You're right about it being early in the season and us not being too far behind, but three away games in second part of the season against the top teams that we can never seem to beat in the league, and it doesn't look good. United were easily able to keep us at arm's length once they got their customary poxy goal against the run of play, so I think best we can hope for is to be in some sort of contention by May, because overall, we look like a team that will drop points against both weak and strong opposition from here on in. There's always another Reading result lurking around the corner when Rafa's in charge with one eye on the CL I'm afraid...
I hate to admit it but i really dont think we can win the league this season. Champions League yes, Premier League no :-(
Good point, the 3 away games could prove problematic, having said that though I think Arsenal are the only ones who actually outclassed us. We should've beaten Chelski (ref!) and ManUre would've been a deserved draw.
Our away form this year has improved dramatically so I'd like to think we can carry that over to the new year.
