What can be said other than the players don't have much to play for in the Premiership and put in another lacklustre performance against West Ham. Fighting for fourth spot is hardly going to motivate them and since Paco left Liverpool, I've doubted Rafas ability to motivate the players also.
I almost don't want us to win the Champions League again this year because that might mean Rafa stays. At the rate we're going, finishing 30 odd points behind the ManUre or Arsenal is highly likely and completely inexcusable.
I've been optimistic for the majority of the season and wanted to stand by Rafa and all, but I've finally lost all faith in him. It would take an astonishing turn around for me to change my mind (80 odd points & the European Cup). Rafa will have to go and a new manager is needed.

is it any coincidence that things started to go pear shaped when paco left - i dont think so.
lfc is a complete joke now - rafa had one good season with 82 points but the for the other 3 he has been crap.
he has had plenty of money and plenty of players but after 3 or 4 seasons you expect certain results and he has failed to deliver.
what this means is we probably have another couple of transitions years ahead of us when we get a new manager in the summer.
I would like to see us get someone like O'Neill in, he might lack Rafas tactical nous, but he is an excellent motivator and also loves to play attacking football. Lots of people talk about Mourinho coming to us and sure he might win trophies but we would be playing dour football.
Its time Liverpool started playing attacking football again, thats what made things so exciting in the 80s
i am tired of rafas stupid and bizarre teams selections and formations. he is always trying to be clever. too clever for his own good. about time he left - sick of his excuses also
No offense, but how do you know Paco is the motivator? And I couldn't understand why there is a fan of the club doesn't want it to win the CL just because this might save the gaffer. Come on, if Rafa can win it then let he wins it, after that we can judge him if he's good enough for LFC or not. I think that there are a lot of Liverpool supporters who still live in its glorious history, not in reality. Btw, don't get me wrong, I'd like to have a managerial change as well because I don't like Rafa's football philosophy. I'd love to have a coach with an aggressive mentality who loves to play beautiful football.
I've a couple of old posts on the subject of Paco and how he handled the people skills side of the equation (links below).
As for not wanting to win the champions league, I did say "almost don't" ;-)
Even if he does win it though, if we finish 20-30 points behind (again) in the premiership, that tells me he's just not up to it. I think Rafa has lost the players at this stage.
What I really hope for is he manages to motivate the players to hit 80 odd points and win the champions league, in which case he would deserve another couple of years in the anfield hot seat :-)
