Traditional management is bad for LFC

In the world of management, talking the talk rules the roost, walking the talk on the other hand is all too often overlooked. The reason being most management types genuinely can't grasp the concept of productivity or objectivity (otherwise most wouldn't get where they got in life without farcical politics).

What's this got to do with Liverpool FC you might ask ? Well Hicks has come out (no not in that way) and admitted that they tried to negotiate terms with Klinsmann as an insurance policy. How can the Yanks seriously consider giving the top anfield post to a guy with no relevant experience or track record (oh, that's right he 'sounded' like an impressive guy) ?

I find it
disturbing that they would even consider entrusting the future of OUR club to Klinsmann ! Stinks of pure politics and a complete lack of understanding of football, that approach obviously works in the real business world where companies thrive on ineffiency & sycophancy but sport is an entirely different proposition where winners win by walking the talk.

Shankly put it best when he said football is about the supporters, players & manager, the owners are only there to sign the cheques.

Hicks knew exactly what he was doing when he made that statement, it was never intended to calm things down at Liverpool, its only purpose is to cause more unrest. I have long since lost faith in Hicks & Gillet, they only ever talk the talk.

I wish we could just get rid of the damn yanks, such a waste of space, we need owners who will run LFC like a football club should be run

From the minute Statler and Waldorf didn't come up with the cash as promised, and Rafa started getting ants in his pants, I knew the whole thing was bollixed. Not only are these guys not delivering on their promises by giving Rafa no cash and putting their debts back on the club, they are also systematically dismantling LFC's traditional in-house, discreet way of doing our business. Pure American claptrap from the outset and courting publicity and this most recent attempt to unsettle Rafa absolutely stinks to high heaven.
It doesn't matter who they manoeuvre into place as manager if they have no money to give him it won't make a difference. What a pair of pricks.

I couldn't agree with you all more, ah sure, who knows, we might get lucky and DIC will buy the yanks out!

Hi I'm interested that your entry on Jan 15th was your first truly negative entry on the Yanks, based on their idiocy for approaching Klinsmann thus proving they hadabsolutely no football knowledge... so I don't know whether the fact that Rick Parry was party to the whole Klinsmann thing would affect your opinion of the Yanks at all-- it seems not.
