No arrogant demands, just loyalty & desire

Sami Hyypia, one of LFCs all time greats has announced his desire to take his career with us into his 10th season. Despite the fact that he'll be competing with Carragher, Agger & Skrtel for a playing spot he is prepared to fight for his position. He's a true pro and we can count on him to not moan about playing every week and also to put in the effort when required. If only all our players possessed such a mentality, far too many seem to think they have a devine right to play.
Some people might prefer that a youth player get the 4th central defender spot, but given the lack of playing time they would be exposed to, that same player might be better off going on a season long loan. As for Hyypia, he's been outstanding for us over the years and thoroughly deserves a new contract, even if only for another season and then give him a well deserved testimonial.

Sami is a total legend. We would be fortunate to have someone of his calibre to act as backup cover. Despite his age he has been excellent for us this season. People always go on about his lack of pace as he gets older, but he never had any to begin with. His experience will prove invaluable to us. YNWA Sami

He has to stay, I can't see LFC being stupid enough to let someone of his calibre leave the club.
