Regardless of which players we end up signing this summer, I feel the most important signing we've made is that of Sammy Lee. While Rafa is a tactical genius, his people skills are reputedly lacking.
With Sammy on board we now have someone who can easily communicate with and get on well with both the players and of course Rafa. It's going to make for a much happier dressing room (so to speak) and the boost in morale amongst the players is going to make a difference on the pitch. I think he could prove to be our missing puzzle piece, ok a couple of wingers/wingbacks would help too ;-)

I agree with you there, things took a turn for the worst when Paco left. There has been a void ever since and with Sammy we just might have the missing link. He's a true LFC legend, great coach and should result in some good football being played.
True. People tend to forget that backroom staffs are equally as important as players.
Sure its gonna help and all, but its the players we get who will ultimately determine whether we lift the premiership trophy next year.

Agreed. Hving Sammy on board will be a big plus. At least somthing of the Anfield tradition will be remaining at the club - namely the boot room, and the link to the past. Had a secret hope that we would get Gary Mac in, but must say i'm delighted with Sammy. With him and Rafa as our management team, i don 't think we could have a better pair running our club.
The biggest signing however will be getting Agger back fit and playing games for Liverpool, We went the entirity of last season without our best CB, and his return will be a big boost (no disrespect to Skrtel and Hyypia who deputised well).
