I've come to dislike international games if only because I don't like seeing our own players getting injured. This summer is unusual in that we've got players at both Euro 2008 and also the Olympics.
When I heard that Babel would be out for several weeks due to a torn ankle ligament I figured we'd have him back for pre-season. Unfortunately the Dutch have now decided they'd like to take him to the Olympics, which means we might not get to see him until September. This looks like being a long summer and I wonder how many more players we'll end up losing.

We must be able to do something, the mancs have been doing it for long enough, keeping players back home with 'groin strains' and such to stop them going and playing internationals at awkward times.
Anyway, I had no idea the Dutch even had an Olympic team. Lucas and Masch I heard about months ago, but this is the first I've heard about Babel.
Obviously I'm guessing Babel will want to represent his country, etc.
But he'll only just be coming back from his injury, and it could be risky.
I'm guessing the Olympics are a FIFA-recognised event?
So we'll be forced to let him go?
Fergie has it down to a tee when it comes to withholding players.
We can be forced to let him go, assuming Babel wants to play, maybe Rafa can persuade him otherwise ;-)
