Brave but perhaps a little naive of Carragher

Never mind merely documenting certain events or quoting statements made by the parties involved. Carragher has chosen to have a right go at the owners of LFC in his autobiography. He calls them ruthless and accuses them of breaking promises and profiteering (link).

Carragher has a huge profile, but I doubt it's big enough to take on Hicks & Gillett. It's nice that he chose to say it how it is, but maybe he should have waited until his playing days were done before making any revelations.

No matter how justified his arguments may be, there's bound to be consequences. Perhaps this could expedite the developing partnership of Agger & Skrtel, or maybe he could get lucky and avoid any recriminations.

Delighted to see he said it as it is. Just shows that once again hes willing to put his neck on the line for the good of the club. If you had asked probably 20 other players in a similar type situation they would either avoid the question or lie. Carra true legend and i reckon is bullet proof when it comes to the yanks

Screw the damn Yanks.
Everything Carra says is true.
They are making a fortune out of us without providing any value.
They cant deny it because there is so much evidence against them.
Actually hang on, they are managers, they can just lie, steal and bully as much as they like. Yankers.

The recriminations will surely come because of his attacks in the book on the Spanish Waiter.
Its well known that players who cross him end up leaving the club.

Truth is, as we all know, Carra is at the back end of his career. He made way too many mistakes last season, so it's not really a problem

I like Carragher, but I agree with you that Carragher is being very naive here. He can take some political lessons from Rafa before having a go at the clowns. He also should concentrate on performing on the pitch and getting us the result against you know who.

I cannot understand why stuff about inbred Neill and ingerlund stuff in his biography. Clean up your act Carra lad!

Maybe he is but he does not have many years left and what he speaks is the truth.

You can just imagine what he must be feeling to have out that in his book.

Those two are messing with the greatest club and nobody seems to be able to do anything.

So maybe Cara is naive but he puts on the red shirt and goes and fights hard for the club only to have these two tear down the work.

If they really cared they would sell the club at a reasonable price not want o make as much as possible.

They actually placed a ban on Tomkins new book for revealing the truth. Poor Carra, was nice watching you play lad...

@henry - i certainly admire him for putting his neck on the line, i just hope he doesn't end up regretting it.

@james - i think we can rely on him to perform on the pitch. Was surprised by his comments about Neill but at least he saw some sense in the end.

@sa lfc fan - i think it's fair to say G+H don't care about the club (based on their widely documented actions & official statements). At this stage I don't care that they'll make a huge profit from us by selling the club. I just want to see LFC moving forward again.

@roger - i emailed Paul Tomkins about that last night, it appears to no longer be the case but we'll have to wait and see.

Carragher is an 'honest' player on the pitch, one who doesn't pull back from any tackle or do anything bar from giving his all. Why should he have done anything but the same in his book.

I'm surprised (and a bit disappointed to be honest) that Carra felt the need to publish the book before he stopped playing but not that he has spoken about his view on the owners.

Not to mention that the stuff he says about Benitez's reaction after Athens is actually what I thought at the time.

I actually care about the amount of profit they make because that could of gone into the club. Could of bought Ribery and Aguero(sp) with that profit:)

@paul grech - i couldn't agree more

@sa lfc fan - the profit I'm referring to is what they'll make from the sale of our club. If [as rumoured] the Sheikh buys us out using his personal funds instead of using DIC as an investment vehicle then I don't think we'll have to worry about where money will be coming from for new players :-)
