Following Chelskis example of introducing cheerleaders to Anfield Road is probably not the best way to liven up the crowd. It's sad to say but Anfield Road can be disappointingly quiet at times, fans clearly need no encouragement for the big games, but it's a very different story for the smaller ones.
Fortunately Rafa has come up with another clever tactical maneuver this season. The decision to reverse the order in which the Premier League anthem and "You'll Never Walk Alone" are played before each match, has resulted in better atmospheres at the start of games (link).
I've another suggestion for the team which will guarantee even better atmospheres home and away. If the team is putting in the effort and playing good football then I think they'll find the crowd will respond in kind.

It depends on a number of things, at the united game Anfield road was very loud and I think the players acknowledged that when Carra came over at the end and clapped our corner.
You are right though for some of the other games some of the supporters in their seem to lack a bit of passion, I say lower the beer prices or everyone give grief to the people that are not singing!
Cheers leaders will just be a distraction. Or we could use a cheese burger stand that will at least put Barry Chuckle of manuire in fear
Chicken and egg Paul - perhaps if the fans put in the effort in the stands the team would respond on the pitch [shrug]
Maybe if the fans were paid as much as the players then we'd have something to get excited about. Its pretty f**ked up that you've got these millionaire players who only have to perform for a couple of hours each week yet all too often they put in very lazy performances. Most normal people in normal jobs would get fired if we had that kind of attitude.
The players were blessed with a gift, the ability to play fabulous football, millions of people cant be wrong! and the 90 mins of play you see isnt all they do my friend!
Silly comment! Obviously not a footie fan!
I am very far away so watching Liverpool in the flesh is still a distant dream for me, but from whatever I can see on TV, it seems to me there's a whole lotta noise! Wow... is it really quiet for d non-huge matches?
Must say that's a great idea Rafa had though...
YNWA!
@freddies_dead & roger - very good point on both counts
@thedropper - thankfully it's nowhere near as bad as Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge. But when it's good, it's really really good :-)
Evening kick offs (when everyone has time to get bladdered beforehand) generally result in a much better atmosphere as long as the opposition is decent. I'd hate one of our big European semi-finals (surely there'll be another this year) to be played at 3pm that's all I can say!
A Manchester resident and a ManU fan once told me the atmosphere at Old Trafford is 'sterile'. Anfield will never ever ever be that :) I really hope I am there to watch Liverpool play someday!
@terence - sure they wouldn't be big european nights anymore if they did that :-(
@thedropper - i think it's something which every LFC fan should try and do. Granted it can be expensive travelling half way round the world, but for the right game, it's worth every single penny.
The fans react to the players, not the other way round. There are very rare occasions - Chelsea in 2005 springs to mind - when players are inspired by the crowd, but generally the notion that the participants need to be lifted by the mostly passive audience strikes me as daft. The greatest indictment of Man Utd fans that I can think of (not that I'm biased or anything) was not Roy Keane's prawn sandwiches comment in itself but the fact hat they didn't run him out of town on a rail for daring to say it. "We pay your wages, you selfish bastard. YOU are meant to lift US, not the other way round! Now get out there and give us something to shout about!"
@deiseach - perfectly said, perfectly :-)
come on guys;not champion are win all the games and not looser are loose in all the games. This is a game anything can happen. Our players are playing very well. But we no luck on that day.And stupid reff is a one of the reason. You guys don't blame anyone.Try to be a good supporter.YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE...LIVERPOOLFC FOREVER..
