There's a strong resilience building amongst the players, as we've had to come from behind 3 times already this season to win. Thankfully they didn't keep us waiting too long this time, with Gerrard scoring a brace of goals.
Despite all the rumours about being injured, Mascherano played, but I'll bet we don't see him this weekend as he looked very tired. Lucas also failed to impress which weakened our midfield, fortunately our defence and in particular Reina were up to the task to repel Marseilles attacks.
Special mention must go to Babel who probably had his best game for us yet. His phenomenal talent is there for all to see and he looks so much stronger than he did last season. If he keeps up that kind of form, we're going to have many exciting attacking options this season.

Would love to see Babel as a striker. Maybe next season when Leto gets back then we will have 2 left wingers and he will get his chance.
Riera looked good again, pity we were playing badly when he came on but he has the skill and its up to him to make a success...have done a great jobs so far.
For me, Pepe Reina was the best man yesterday simply because of the number of crucial saves he pulled off.
@SA LFC FAN: funny you should mention Leto, he scored yesterday in Olympiakos' 2-0 win in the UEFA CUp.
Stevie G does it again with an absolutely beautiful goal. Simply stunning. Agree with Mr Grech that Reina was MOTM with his crucial saves.
It was obvious Mascherano wasnt well after the United game so why did Rafa risk him last night ? We were overrun in midfield because he wasnt fit enough and also because poor Lucas had a crap game. The rest of the lads had a decent enough game and the result is all that matters so Im at least happy with that...
@sa lfc fan - Babel would probably make an excellent striker, but personally I'm still kinda hoping Torres & Keane form our perfect strike partnership. I like to think of Babel as someone who gives us many options ;-)
@paul grech - most definitely agreed
@stevie g - he does that doesn't he..
@roger - Yeah I was a little also that he played him, but I guess Rafa sees things in training that we don't....
A poll in goal.com asking whose goal was better Gerrards or Del Piero’s:

As of now Del Piero is leading. Guys please vote
Can't believe they left out Fernandinho's thunderbolt, which is probably better than both Gerrard & Del Piero goals :-
