While the first half belonged to Manchester City who were deservedly beating us. The second half exemplified the belief and character present in our team to come back and win 3-2.
Comebacks are becoming a recurring theme for us this season. At times we didn't deserve them. But recently we've started playing attractive attacking football. Also Rafa has shown his tactical nous by making appropriate changes during the game to effect a positive outcome.
In the past it has made perfect sense for Rafa to set up stall to negate the strengths of our opponents (especially the big teams). But with the quality and confidence in the squad we've got now. Maybe we should focus more on our own game and let other teams worry about our strengths.

I totally agree with your point on letting other teams worry about us however the better the opposition gets the fewer weaknesses they have. So we have to concentrate on creating chances and scoring goals using the opponents weaknesses.

P.S. What song was played at the wedding?
Now that we've got a near complete squad, Rafas tactical genius is starting to shine through. His ability to make positive changes throughout a game demonstrate his speed of thought.
Really need to start playing our own game against the smaller teams though.
@topscouse - very true, but we're getting better at both creating and scoring goals lately.
The wedding isn't until the 25th October but we will open with "Truly Madly Deeply". Am just glad the Chelsea match isn't until the 26th ;-)
@dummy - that's certainly highly desireable, here's to hoping...
I hate the way Rafa employs negative tactics at times when we should be destroying the weaker teams. Things might look better in the last few games but will that be the case for the whole season ? I dont think so.
It is not a new thing for us to be comeback kings under Benitez. Remember Istanbul, Cardiff etc ?
It is very nice to see us using the wings this year. That is the real difference for us and adds a new dimension to our play.
This result proved our title credentials. Now our dreams are looking more and more realistic. The confidence the players now have should be enough to see us through anything :-)
It was a very important win, the way we came back sent out a message to everyone else that we mean business. I still feel Keane should've started though.
@jessica - hope you're right ;-)
@thedropper - was surprised he didn't go with Keane initially, plus was hoping he'd try to build on his recent goal. But at least we won :-)

At halftime, I mumbled to myself, with Istanbul in my mind, 'We're gonna win 3-2,' as I headed for the kitchen. This is win, coupled with the defeat of Man Utd, serves as a declaration of our intent to make a serious challenge for the title. If we down Chelsea in three weeks, we'll be feared by all and fear none.
This could be very bad for us.

@roger & @abhiram - I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the 'specialist' says tomorrow. Hope it won't be a season long thing.
Speaking as the world's biggest fatalist, at half time I was thinking "we can get this back". I can't recall any time in the last five - ten? fifteen? - years when I would have thought that.
@deisseach - Not even for Istanbul ? Surely Cardiff was practically a foregone conclusion ?
Istanbul? At half time I was worried we were going to lose 8-0. Honestly
Another thing about Sunday. Had Arsenal scored Torres' first goal we'd have never heard the end of it. Glorious, incisive one touch passing. Marvellous.
Anyone feel that this season is different from the last when we also got off to a good start?
When the grind of CL football followed by away fixtures in places like the Midlands takes its toll?
Let's hope it's not another false dawn and that our depth has in fact improved.

@tim - nah, things are much better this time round.... the eternal optimist in me believes it to be true ;-)
