Apparently Stevie's niggling groin has stopped niggling him. Having missed England's worthless friendly and our boring 0-0 draw with Fulham, the lad is back and ready (according to the BBC) to face Marseille.
It's great that he has been with LFC for 10 years now, and also wants to stay for another several years. Hopefully the return of our captain might encourage a sense of urgency in the players so we can secure an early passage through to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

It's a pity we don't have another 2 players like Gerrard. If we do, the title can be easily won. But very unfortunately, we have Keane, an over-the-peak player who finds Liverpool game too fast for him and therefore unable to connect his foot with the ball in front of goal. Get rid of Keane and get another Gerrard like striker. Or, play Torres and Gerrard as strikers.
Well if Arsenal have 11 Fabregases and Mancs have 11 wankers then they too will feel they can win the premier league. The point is we see too much or too little in a player. Gerrard, due to injury has been just average this season. He is yet to show his true form. We have been winning matches till now because of Carragher, Alonso, Kuyt and Mascherano. Just imagine if we have a full form Torres and Gerrard to that mix and add a full of confidence Keane there, and voila, we have a winning, marauding combination.
I would not want to risk Gerrard if there is even a semblance of doubt. We need him fully fit for the long run. December is just starting. Long set of hard matches to come.
Steven Gerrards passion for the game epitomises everything that is great about Liverpool FC. He is also the best all round in the world.
Spot on Abhiram , Liverpool havent hit top form yet so being at the top of the table is a bonus.
A fresh Torres and Gerrard when things get tougher will be in our favour.
Its disappointing that Keane hasn't been scoring as much as we like but he is always slow to settle in each club. At least he hasn't taken as long as crouch to score his first goal!! when he gets going he will be lethal.
its a marathon not a sprint and at the moment we are better placed for a long long time as I care to remember.
@abhiram - i'd like to think the recent performance against Fulham was the result of an international hangover and that the players don't need a boost from Gerrard. Either which way, I just hope we beat Marseille so we can focus on the Premier League again.
@jessica - best all round player you mean ?
@goldenliverbird - feels good being at the top of the table coming in to xmas. Hopefully Torres, Gerrard and Keane will come into their own in the new year, that should help ensure we win the league :-)
Podolski has put in his papers for transfer.

Hope he comes to LFC :)
@abhiram - I'd be surprised if he wanted to join LFC due to having too much competition. He wants to leave Bayern cos he doesn't get his game there.
He's a class player though.
I'm kinda hoping that the likes of Pachecho will make a sustained 1st team breakthrough next year instead of buying more strikers.
I was pinning my hopes on Nemeth to shine. He's yet to start a game. Now we have a few youngsters to check out - El Zhar, Darby, Spearing, Nemeth, Ngog and Pacheco. Hope atleast 3 of them turn out good.
BTW do you guys have any idea how Hobbs is turning out in his loaned club?
Heard of Hobbs getting a few games back in August and another couple in October but no special performances. If he has a future at liverpool it will probably only be as a squad filler next season.
