For the first hour of the match it looked a case of deja vu, with the lads dominating possession but failing to break the opposing team down. With Blackburn in the relegation zone, they looked content to park the bus in front of their goal and settle for a draw.
Alonso has been having an excellent season for us, his range of passing and overall play is invaluable to us. But it was his opener that forced them to start attacking, at which point we had no problems carving them up with more goals from midfield. It's just a shame that our strikers continue to fire blanks.
Our defense was as solid as ever, with Hyypia having an excellent game, even his passing was good. Also young Insua made a very good league debut, and could soon find himself standing in for Aurelio more often. But the most important thing is that the team has bounced back from recent poor results.

That wasn't Insua's league debut. Get your facts right if you are going to pass comment on matches and wish to be seen as credible.
Let's not be picky ... point well made ... Insua was pretty good and I think will be an excellent player for us!!

it wasn't even his 1st start.. Fulham before the cl final in athens.. But yep insua looking good.. But also great call from rafa too play hyppia just as agger started looking tired.. Sami is pivotal for the whole defence!

I thought it was his first league start also. Seems like a whole lot of fuss over nothing. What should matter is that we have got a proper sub for Aurelio and also a possible long term solution for the left back position in the years to come.
Moving swiftly along . . . really enjoyed the way Hyypia dealt with rebound from when Blackburn hit the bar - volleying the ball into orbit. Danger? What danger?
