Doing the double over Chelsea feels great

First things first, our performance from start to finish was fully deserving of a victory. Everyone played their part in controlling the game, and thanks to the brilliance of Torres that victory was ensured with 2 well taken goals. No doubt his buddha-like goal celebration will live on in memory.

The red card shouldn't be allowed to detract from the victory, true Lampard shouldn't have been sent off for his tackle on Alonso, but Bosingwa should have been sent off for his disgraceful kick on Benayoun (who was superb and changed the game). I look on it as karma doing its thing, as these types of decisions have a tendancy to balance out over time.

Beating Chelsea, was precisely the kind of result we needed after a run of poor results [link]. Can you imagine what a confidence booster this must be for the team ? If this result doesn't propel the team on a winning streak, I don't know what will, but you can sense the title is still within our grasp.

that was probably the worst tackle i have ever seen in my life. it was completely deliberate and i hope the fa review the footage and impose a hefty ban and fine for bosingwa. benayoun had another excellent game and underscores his importance for us when he is on form.

What a game! Edge of the seat stuff, near the end of the game I had come to terms with a draw, I didn't mind because this time they fought with courage and spirit.....and then it happened...two goals in quick succession....I shouted so loud our dogs took off as though the very devil himself was after him. That's a game I would have liked to have seen live, to those of you that were there last night ....I am as envious as hell

Thing with the Bosingwa incident is that it happened in injury time and Chelsea were already losing, so it can't really be compared with the Lampard red card. I see it more a pay off for Rob Styles' imaginary penalty.

I had resigned myself to witnessing another crappy draw and with it our title hopes lying in shatters. But those last few minutes were amazing and we deserved the win. Torres is a GOD.

Awesome, absolutely awesome, the perfect result for us and just what we needed when we needed it. We're firmly back in the title race now.
After Keane wasn't even listed in the squad yesterday, I knew there was something going on in the background with Spurs so todays news that a sale has been agreed was sadly unsurprising.

Now that was the kind of ballsy performance the team has lacked for quite a while. Interesting bit of info for you all = the last time we did the double over Chelsea we won the fucking league :-)

We fielded a strong side for this game and there were no ridiculous negative subsititutions. I also had settled for another crappy draw after 85 minutes, and i could not see any goals coming. It was a pleasant surprise to see Torres bang two great goals in at the end. I still think we need to work on our attacking play though,as we totally dominated possession again, but did not get much reward until so late in the game. I just read that Robbie Keane has gone. It makes the club look stupid paying 20 million, then not giving him a decent chance to prove his worth, then selling him after 6 months. How embarrasing, and in my opinion a series of mistakes.

@bruce (sa red) - yeah I wish I could actually attend the big matches also but I only ever manage tickets for the smaller games, the atmosphere on a TV can never compare.

@jessica - I just hope he doesn't get injured again now that Keane has been sold.

@val - shocking stuff, was surprised we didn't at least try to keep him until summer, doesn't make any sense.

@dummy - I think we all knew it was coming, am just surprised it happened before the end of the season.

@scottd - yeah our attacking play definitely needs a bit of work, we only got the chances we did because Chelsea (unlike smaller visiting teams) were willing to try and attack us a bit.

When Torres scored i jumped off the couch and got carpet burns on my knees. I also woke the missus up so she pissed @ me as she had to get up for work. It was worth it though:)
