Run of good form ends with a tear

Life must be tough for Benayoun, he has missed much of the season, yet in recent weeks found himself getting some games and even playing pretty well in them. Sadly the excitement of playing has proven too much for him and he's now the latest player to succumb to a tear in his hamstring.

Other notable absentees for the make or break games with Real Madrid and Manchester United are Arbeloa and Agger who are both still injured. Torres on the other hand stands a chance of being available, he faces a late fitness test today to see if that's hopefully possible.

Yes unfortunately, all the injuries are haunting LFC this season.. This shows that you cant loan out any player small or big..

Although we have great young players who need a break like Pacheco,Hammil, Spearing, Darby, ... etc

I just wish to know why Keane gave up and took the bate Rafa or whoever decided to give him and ran away? I think it was merely a test to see his intentions and patience..

Why Voronin is on loan, he is not so bad? Pennant, i dont think he is interested in playing for LFC as much as running after his favorite manager..

Still if you look at the available players such as Insua, Aurelio, Reira plus Stevie and Torres (if he will be there) I think the team is OK but you cant stretch your luck and suffer more injuries..

Benayoun is an active winger and we need someone like him, I hope Babel will show some character in filling this position..

I guess we will have to wait and see.. I cant predict or imagine what will happen to us..

@tawfiq the red - I'm still gutted that Keane was let go so easily and quickly.... lord only knows what formation and team selection Rafa is going to go with against Real Madrid, but if we win I'll be happy all the same...

I am beginning to wonder if we will ever see Torres fit this season. Gerrard has also been unlucky with his hamstring. Imagine how much better we would be if we had the 2 of them available for most of the season. What is very clear is that we are too weak compared to other top teams and need to strengthen a lot this summer if we want to win the Premiership next year.

That really sucks that he won't be able to play for the Real Madrid game. He played so well in the first game I was looking forward to another great performance :(

@zoran - damn right we need to strengthen big time. We'll need new owners for something like that to happen though.

@jack kelsch - Sky News had a little piece on him last night where they showed him doing some training. Rafa said he'll wait to see how he comes through todays training to decide whether to play him. Realistically it'll only be a cameo appearance.
