Yet another comprehensive victory for LFC

It was only a couple of weeks ago that everyone was writing off our chances of lifting the Premier League trophy. It's truly amazing what a difference a couple of games can make to our dreams. Destroying Manchester United (4-1) and now Aston Villa (5-0) has put a whole new complexion on the title race.

Everyone looks like they're enjoying their football which is reflected in the quality of play. Goals are being scored for fun and the Anfield faithful are giving standing ovations at half time. This is dreamland stuff for Liverpool fans and fingers crossed it will continue after the international break.

We're still relying on Manchester United to continue to make mistakes (Vidic and Rooney missing for a few games will help), and of course we must capitalise on those, but surely we've got a very realistic chance of coming good now.

I feel guilty giving up on Liverpool a few weeks ago. It seemed so hopeless at the time but things are awesome now. I hope the players have mercy on us and dont throw it all away.

I am not old enough to remember the glory days back in the 70s/80s but I think the football we are playing right now must be just as good as those days ?

The important thing for us is to not get too carried away. We have a faint glimmer of hope, very faint. Man Utd have the advantage and the international break has arrived at the perfect time for them and the not so perfect time for us.

Like you say "it's truly amazing what a difference a couple of games can make to our dreams". YNWA

This is the premiere league
This is why its the best league in the world
Im very happy with Kuyt and Riera
Just felt disapointed that after the 66th mnute the team was clumsy and jus played to pass time!
Overall I would love to see how will they play Fulham, we need to overcome them from the first half.
Cheers guys

Gerrard deserves a mention for his first ever hat trick but Rieras goal was amazing. Reina has done that so many times for us, he leads from the back and sets up goal scoring opportunities for us. What an amazing volley from Riera.

Roberto I agree

@jessica - I wouldn't feel too guilty about it, our prospects did look rather bleak at the time. As for the glory days, sure things were great, but it's the present and future which we should all be focusing on ;-)

@marcus - yeah but it's still pretty darn exciting ;-)

@tawfiq the red - by the 66th minute we had already destroyed them and there was no way Villa could come back. It's only natural I guess that they would ease up at that stage. Fulham could be a tricky game, we need all 3 points.

@roberto - I wasn't too impressed with Gerrard, but yeah Riera's goal was totally amazing.

lets hope aston villa surprise man utd with a come back display.. As i said before in previous comments, i still believe that what our team has done to manure will inspire others to go for the win against them.. Its going to be exciting from now till the end of the season.. Lets hope LFC keep the same momentum..
Cheers

I too was guilty of giving up on the team after the woeful Middlesbrough game, but haven't things changed since then. The confidence at the moment is remarkable and we seem unstoppable. Unfortunately we have to rely on Manure dropping points in at least 2 games, but Arsenal should provide at least one of those.

It is so much better to watch the team when they are attacking and prepared to take risks. The goal from Reina to Reira was legendary stuff and was similar to Dossena's brilliant goal against Manure last week.

I still want Rafa to spend some money during the summer. Give us some decent wingers and strikers (back up for Torres and Gerrard) and we will be in great shape. Anyone for David Villa lining up at Anfield next season?

@tawfiq the red - if they can keep the momentum going, we're in for an incredibly exciting title run in :-)

@scott d - wingers most definitely, but David Villa might prove a problem for balancing the squad.
