Seems like quite a few newspapers are claiming that Tevez is likely a £22m transfer target for us this summer. Unlike the last time we tried to prise a player (Heinze) away from Old Traffford, this time there's nothing ManUtd can do about it, as he's only on loan with them.
Our preferred partnership of Torres & Gerrard, is something which I doubt most Liverpool fans would want to mess with, which would make Tevez an overpriced backup striker. If we're going to be spending that kind of money (and we should) on an attacker, then I hope Rafa chooses to go with a dedicated winger in the mould of Ribery or Silva.

We need a striker, but i rather not have Tevez
Tevez is a great player who can also play the wings. He has loads of Premiership experience and would settle into our system very quickly. The real problem is that Man City and Chelsea can easily outbid us and probably will.
@Val - but if we do end up getting him, once he scores a few goals, we're all going to be singing his praises ;-)
@Simon - hmmm, not so sure about his wing play (although I haven't seen too much of it), but I guess he could adapt.

Tevez is awesome; all the United fans I know love Tevez and would have in the team before Berbatov any day. He works hard and plays with pride, and he'd link up well with Mascherano.
Tevez is a legend, just look at what he did for West Ham before Manure got him. He is the only Manure player that I actually like, and I think he would fit in brilliantly.
As mentioned by someone else, he is good friends with Mascherano and he works hard and his finishing skills are excellent.
I reckon we should break the bank to get him, as our current strikers (other than Torres) are not that good. Compare Tevez to Ngog, Kuyt, Babel and Vorinon - he shits all over those 4 players. What happens if Torres is injured again for most of next season. We do not have a decent plan B in place if that happens.
I have to disagree...I see Tevez more in the mould of a Kuyt than a Torres.
He works his socks off for Utd offensively and defensively, and you don't often find him just lingering in front like Berbatov or Potatohead...
@Matt & @Scott D - his hard working ethic is one thing which I really like about him, and if he could adapt to being a quality winger cum striker, then he could make an excellent signing for us.
it can be possible, we don´t have to pay for him, ´cause he´s going to be a free agent!! and we can buy it, gerrard can play behind them, or other thing they can do is take out Kuyt or put him on bench... but the one that take the dessisions is Rafa and not me u.u

I am a big fan of carlos Tevez he is 1 of the only man U players that I acctually like. He works hard and is much betta than berbatov. But I really dont think he wud fit into the liverpool system. If He was to play regularly as a striker, we wud have todrop 1 of our holding midfielders Alonso or macherano, and play Gerrard in a usual CM position instead of his usual free role behind torres. If we were to play him on the wing he wud be yet another make shift winger like Kuyt. Without th speed and crossing ability a winger has. IF WEWONT A INGER Y DONT WE BUY A WINGER
