The poor guy had a bit of a lapse in concentration and completely missed kicking the ball when trying to pass it. At first it wasn't humourous because West Ham stole the ball and looked like scoring.
That is until the plonker (Di Michele) made it all the way into the penalty area, only to literally fall over his own shadow. Replays of the incident clearly show there being no contact from Reina, yet that didn't stop the plonker from protesting the lack of a penalty being awarded.
Normally it really annoys me when players blatantly try to cheat but in this case, Di Michele didn't benefit and got himself booked. But the neat thing about hindsight is that I can now look back (after we won 3-0) and smile at Carraghers uncharacteristic slip up.

That was the funniest dive I've ever seen in my entire life :-)
It wasn't the best of games but we won and are top of the table so I'm well chuffed :-)
Kinel, yet another wool blog.
Is this 'Comical Carragher' who otherwise had yet another imperious game?
Strange game really and a lethargic performance but the 3 points is all that matters. I felt sorry for Carra with his Charlie Brown moment!
Wool? He's not a wool, he's Irish!
@Dummy - winning was all that mattered, now all we need is for City to do the same against United.
@Roger - Charlie Brown moment ?
@deiseach - I think the anonymous poster took it as an affront for seemingly criticising Carra. Although I did say in the last line that it was uncharacteristic of him !?!
"Kinel, yet another wool blog"
Remember to trace your Scouse lineage to right back to the sons of Abraham before posting on here. What a knobber! Carra had a bit of an off day yesterday, but Di Michaeli; what a performance - a classic choke.
The wools have been desperate to write Jamie off for a while now, despite the fact that he's still our best defender and leader.
Had an off day?
Try watching the game and not the OOT chip on your shoulder.
@anonymous - I've no interest in writing off Carra at all, he's one of my favourite players. I merely found the whole episode a little amusing - no big deal. There's no chip on my shoulder, but I suspect there's one on yours ;-)
