Lauri Dalla Valle - profiled starlet

This Finnish starlet has had an impressive season, and was probably our best youth player. At just 17 he became the youngest player at Melwood, then he went on to score 20 goals in all competitions (8 in the Youth Cup).

It's not just his goal scoring feats which attract attention, but his overall awareness of what's happening around him. The midfielder/striker, can easily find space between defenders and also pick out his team mates with killer passes.

Although Dalla Valle is still very much developing, he comes across as one of the few youth players who has got a real chance of making the step up to the first team. Realistically it'll be another year or so before he's pressing for a first team place, but the raw potential is there for all to see.

Dalla Valle is a wonderkid who has always been a very prolific goal scorer. Lots of hat tricks at international youth level and schoolboy levels. He has a great future at lfc.

He is 18 in September so maybe he get lucky and make an appearance during pre-season and some Carling Cup games. Pacheco did it last summer when he was only 17 so its possible.

one good thing about dalla valle is his change of plan at liverpool, he said that he would only stay at liverpool for one year and move on which we agreed. but in december he told he dad he wish to stay longer. he also played for inter milan youth team but thought the club wasn't right for him

After hearing so much about him, I was really looking forward to seeing him play in the youth cup final. Honestly I was more impressed by Arsenals players.

I've seen some YouTube clips of him and he looks like he's got 'something about him', not world class though. Maybe in the future he can be a squad filler for LFC.

We always hear about these great youth players but apart from Insua (who cost a few million) Benitez has never really trusted any of them. Only exceptional youth players can ever make it. Dalla Valle is a very good but not the next big thing.

@Inderjit - It's certainly a possibility and would be cool, but I'd prefer to see Pacheco moving forward this coming season, and then Dalla Valle the season after.

@jnrwrighty - hmmm, first I heard about that, but glad he decided to stay.

@Zoran - true he was over shadowed in the finals, but over the course of the season, he has been pretty good.
