There's a huge number of changes being made to the Youth Academy this summer. Rafa is making sure that new people with new ideas are being brought in to revamp absolutely everything.
It's a masterstroke on the part of Rafa, that he has managed to persuade our greatest ever player to return to LFC. King Kenny will now play a senior role in the development of our youth players, which should allow him to instill his passion for Liverpool into our youth setup.
Also on the side he'll act as an ambassador for LFC, whatever that position entails it's probably pretty open ended. But with his professionalism and intelligence, I'm sure he can make a go of it. Welcome home King Kenny.

After waiting months for this to happen I am all made up now. All hail the king.
This will go down in history as the second best signing of Benitez. Torres is of course number 1.
The number 7 shirt is up for grabs, wouldn't mind seeing him get a game or two ;-)
he wouldnt do any worse than Owen!
I can understand a manager wanting to have all his own people under him. It's the same kind of shit you get in any company.
What I admire about Benitez is that he respects our clubs traditions and ensures a solid spine of people who are red to the core. First Sammy Lee and now the king himself. These are the kind of people you want around our club.
Benitez master stroke a non Spanish addition to the backroom staff.
Fantastic for the lads already there and great encouragement for any kids eyeing a move to Liverpool. If you had the choice aged 15 where to go, Liverpool and work with Kenny or Man utd and work with Paul McGuinness? I imagine anyone would choose us over the scum?
@Larry - I think we'll only get to see him in the legends games wearing #7 ;-)
@paulfc - I can't wait to see the positive effects his appointment will have for our youth setup :-)
the club is gettin stronger and stronger each day n rafa is the man for the job
