Voronin is certainly someone who flatters to deceive. His form in the Bundesliga proves he has the basic ingredients to be a decent striker, but he hasn't carried that form over to the Premiership.
It's no secret that most fans would like to see us sign another striker. Essentially when you really want someone to make a positive impact, seeing Voronin coming off the bench doesn't exactly inspire great confidence.
'Studs Up' have a humourous take on our dearth of quality strikers, click here to view it. All joking aside, Voronin claims he really wants to fight for his place. What's needed now is for him to prove that by making the effort to become a productive player for us.

Well that was worth a bit of a chuckle even if it makes a mockery of our lack of strikers.
Thats the difference between us and Chelsea / Man Utd. Those guys have quality on their benches which will ultimately be the difference behind who wins the Premier League.
@Larry - well the way I see it, there's nothing we can do to change the whole striker situation at LFC.
So why not make light of it all !?
Hi Paul i still think gettin rid of Keane was another mistake by Rafa, im sure he would have come good for us given a full season to settle in. At least he would be another option up front!!!!
Have you not noticed that Keane has continued in exactly the same form as he had when he left us for the Spuds! There must be someone at Hertha who's worth a swop deal deal for Voronin. Just like with goals, he doesn't seem to grab the opportunities when they arrive. Personally, I'd like to see Gerard in midfield alongside monster Mash, with Dirk on the right, Yossi on the left and babel playing second striker to Torres, for a couple games, if it does work out we flog Babel and move on but we would at least be able to say we tried him in his favoured position.
@Karen - I doubt we'll ever really know what was going on behind the scenes between Rafa and Parry over Keane. But I believe it had to have played a part in his poor form. Maybe if he was given more support (off the pitch) he might have settled and performed for us, but we'll never know :-(
@Pat - Babel is another player who has promised to deliver this season but has looked exceptionally lazy when given the chance.
Partnering Gerrard and Mascherano is fast becoming something of a concensus amongst LFC fans, but I not so secretly hope Lucas will come good for us ;-)
