Musings on the Stoke match

There was a very stark contrast between our 0-0 draws with Stoke last season and last nights emphatic 4-0 victory. Also it was the perfect response to the disappointment of losing to Spurs.

Johnson impressed on his Anfield debut with a superb goal and assist. He looks like he's going to settle very quickly with LFC, and it's clear that we've got ourselves a special player who gives us that extra attacking verve.

It's not just the result that mattered, but the manner in which we won. The lads have shaked off the cobwebs of pre-season and we finally look like a team who can perform well. Which is a good thing because next up we've got Aston Villa who will give us a much sterner test.

No disrespect to Stoke City but they arent a good team so its premature to say we have left our poor form behind us. We will know that after the Villa game.

Saw the goals on youtube and Johnsons looked amazing.

@Michelle - true, but I'd like to think we've already left our poor form behind us. There was an energy about the lads that I hadn't seen since last season, so I think we'll be alright now ;-)

3 vital points !!!

Just as much fun last night was Burnley beating the Scum :-)

@Isak - exactly :-)

@Scouserine - I'll not pretend to be gutted that they lost ;-)

Johnson is worth every single penny. Himself and Kuyt look like they have been playing together for years. Obviously it's still early days but this could be a promising partnership and I can see them tearing many teams apart down the right.

@Marcus - I'm really liking the look of Johnson, am well impressed with how quickly he's adapting.

@kev oman - it was also a great result for us ;-)
