I almost felt sorry for Hull City who we destroyed 6-1. A hat-trick from Torres, a wonder (did he mean it) goal from Gerrard, plus a brace from Babel. It's a great result, which leaves us with the best goal difference in the league.
Also we're only 3 points from the top of the table, thanks to Chelsea's shock defeat to Wigan. Just goes to show how quickly things can change.
Apart from some minor defensive glitches, it really looks like things are coming together for us and we're looking like a team in form. Hopefully people will start cutting Liverpool some slack and stop dismissing our title chances.

The more I look at replays of Gerrards goal, the more convinced I am that he was trying to pass it (not to begrudge him like).
We still need to sharpen up a bit at set pieces but I'm happy with the way things are progressing and feel we're ready for Chelsea next weekend. That Torres fella doesn't look half bad !
gerrards goal was definitely just a cross
great result but im still very worried about our defence and fiorentina and chelsea will give them a much sterner test than hull
@Marcus - it was a very nice pass though ;-)
Looking at Babel... you can see he has talent... you really can see that... but talent is not enough... i remember once reading somewhere that success is 20% skill and 80% mind... and watching babel he just seems so nervous whenever he sees the ball let alone touch it... he seems mentally weak to me... yeh he can get a good run of games and maybe gain alot of confidence and perform better... but he seems like a player that could lose that confidence in an instant...
Thats what separates him from a player like Torres... who always seems so confident(if not always in form)...
@suley - yeah I'm not too confident about Babels mental strength either. Shame for such an obviously talented individual.
Babel's 2nd goal for goal of the season. He was completely oblivious!
@Azza - Been watching several slow-mo replays of it and his facial expression backs that up.
I remember when I first saw it I thought he meant to flick it !
Thought he didn't have the mental strength to do that!
@RedLucifer (Twombly Red) - when I've said Babel lacks mental strength, it has only ever been in reference to his laziness / unwillingness to fight for his place. His ability to produce moments of magic has always been there and something which I've posted about numerous times.
Twombly red??
Care to list Babel's moments of magic ?
@RedLucifer - not really, it seems like a silly thing to justify considering that its plain to see for anyone who has watched him play over the last couple of years.
So you are saying that you know more than Rafa ?
@RedLucifer - lord no, not at all, not even nearly.
I think Babel has bags of talent but he can also be a very lazy and clumsy player at times (far too often for my liking).
How have I implied that I think I know more than Rafa ?
