Disappointing scoreline against Debreceni

Surely none of you really thought that Debreceni were going to present Liverpool with any obstacles. For the vast majority of the match it was all one way traffic against the whipping boys of the group.

Yet that didn't translate into us scoring lots of goals. Lucas, Kuyt, and Benayoun all had very good games, but it was a lacklustre performance from the rest of the lads. I guess it was just one of those nights.

The important thing is that we've got our Champions League campaign off to a winning start which is all that really matters.

3 wins on the trot and another clean sheet will help confidence. Piss poor performance but a win is a win.
Never seen Anfield so quiet before, its like no one could be bothered to try and create any atmosphere.

@Larry - it's disappointing when Anfield is subdued like that, but playing against such a small team was never going to get them going.

Getting a bit worried, to be honest...

@Isak - the lads will pull it together soon enough. Every team goes through some poor form at different times in the season, as long as we're not dropping points in the interim, then no harm done.

@Paul - You're quiet right, as long as the boys don't stay in "the captivity of negativity", in wich this club usually don't do for long. I put my faith in that the gaffer will knock out the knock outness the boys had in the beginning :-)! Cheers buddy...

BTW...if anyone guesses where "the captivity of negativity" comes from, i'll buy you a beer once i drop by Liverpool :-)

@Michelle - Looks like I owe you a beer... :-) Sounds so cool when that character says it..."The captivity of negativity" LOL

To everyone...How do you feel about the new news about the stadium-building?

"When we get to the point where the global market settles down and we bring pieces together to finance the stadium (then we can again start building)," he said.

"It's certainly not anything we have changed our mind on. I don't know about the dates because of the global financial markets, but I know the markets will settle down and get better.

"I'm an optimist. I've been through lots of cycles, although none as severe as this in my lifetime. It's a dynamic world."

He continued: "We have spent a lot of money and we have a fully designed stadium. We have every permit in place, all the city councils' approvals, the judicial reviews on a national basis - everything is done.

That's a great asset to have just to wait for the markets to open up and be able to do anything. Certainly it will happen."

Sounds pretty fine to me...

@Michelle - fair dues to ya ;-)

@Isak - realistically I can't see it being started for another couple of years, then add a few more to complete it :-(
