The problem with Babel

Babels latest outburst is that he feels that Rafa has broken promises to give him more playing time, and he now wants to go out on loan to Ajax. Which makes a mockery of his talk about fighting for a place at LFC.

It's disappointing that Babel doesn't realise that he's responsible for his own actions, and that Rafa has been exceptionally patient with him. It's his own fault that he has repeatedly failed to take the opportunities given to him.

A couple of months ago I was praising Babel for his potential and supposed improvement in his attitude. Seems like I was being overly optimistic, and I now doubt if he will ever have the right mentality to make it at LFC.

Hate to say I told you so but....

A loan move would be good, he needs to play and make the world cup so we can cash in on him.

@Larry - it really is a shame though, he has so much raw talent.

If only his mentality were a little more positive and he was willing to fight for his place.

Bye bye Babel might have been a more appropriate title for this post. He's too lazy a person/player. There's no way Benitez is going to tolerate the kind of crap which Babel is spewing forth lately.

broken promises? four games in? Gees Babel grow up mate!
Surely he should be training harder to win back his place instead of moaning publicly? Makes him look like a fool, we have seen him disappoint on a regular basis, he cannot moan about not playing until he is performing

The reason for babel wanting to return is because, firstly he is not good enough at Premiership level and has failed miserably to step up to the mark. This provides the second part and that is he wants to return to the easy lane in Holland to give him a chance to get the world cup ticket.

Liverpool have been more than patient with his mediocre performances

@Marcus - I thought I'd save that post a little longer ;-)

@Luke - if he only he could see it that way also.

@Dave - a world cup ticket could be good for his valuation and help us recuperate the money invested in him.

The broken promise is by Babel, he was going to fight and prove himself. I cant see that he has done this. Even in preseason he wasnt all that great. Strangely the key performers in preseason were the widely documented Lucas and also Voronin, who is another frustrating player.

A loan would be good for Babel whether it be for him to get games and improve as a player or to raise his stock so we can sell him for a decent amount. Lets face it, the way he is playing right now is not warranting a very lucrative price tag!

Personally i prefer Riera on the left any way and can you see Babel getting in behind the striker ahead of Gerrard? please?! Babel will always be squad not first team!

@craig - well said, he's really shot himself in the foot, can't see him being here next season.

Babel is a waste of space simple as simple, he's just a flop, we need to sell him as quick as possible he has no mentality no creativity and am afraid to say that this type of player is only good for mid table team. i know many people here will disagree with me but it's oly the truth... Like LARRY sais we need to cash in on him

@A. - cashing in on him is the way to go, but we need to boost his value first and a loan move followed by a decent world cup is the best way for that.

Or maybe we'll get lucky and the boy will shut up and show us his talent on the pitch, but I'm probably being overly optimistic again ;-)
