LFC will be announcing a new shirt sponsor to take over from Carlsberg next season. George Gillet says it will be a sponsor that fans will be pleased and surprised to be associated with Liverpool...
There has been a bunch of strong rumours that it could possibly be a financial company, but I can't think of any cool ones. Plus if you consider that Gillet says we'll be pleased and surprised, implies it's not one of those.
Having a really cool logo like Apple would look great, but as long as it's nothing tacky looking we should be happy.
EDIT:- LFC has now confirmed that Standard Chartered have sealed a 4 year deal worth £80 million.

this is old news.. this deal was done last month.. why is this making the headlines?
I hope that Times article is true cos £80 million over 4 years seems like a great deal.
If its true I would rather the club just confirm it now rather than waiting another week to tell us.

I'll probably have to stop dreaming of an Apple logo gracing our shirts now ;-)
Could be cool with the 'Android' logo too...signaling openess and freedom for all people, though 80 mill. would be hard to match by that project...oh, well! Dreaming is good too. But most important is that it will inject a fine amount of money to the club, hopefully the manager will get a bit more to play with and some of it for our new stadium as well...
woah 80 million... thats 20 million a year... would be great if some of this went towards transfers... first time ive been impressed since they took over
@Isak - I like the text part of the Android logo, but the robot part might look a bit strange on a jersey ;-)
I wonder if the money will go towards paying off debts or for new players ?
@suley - I've been impressed a few times. When they originally announced the new stadium. Also their first summer in charge was cool considering all the money we spent on Torres, Babel, Lucas, and Benayoun etc
