Liverpool's poor form continues unabated

Are you still in a state of shock over another poor result ? Did anyone think we'd follow up the great result against Man Utd with a 3-1 loss to Fulham ? It's becoming increasingly difficult to defend LFC's run of poor results.

Sure there's some perfectly valid arguments like we've been hit by lots of injuries and some of our key players aren't fully fit. Some might question the decisions of Rafa or point the finger at our fixture list (mostly away games). As ever Tomkins has a very rational look at things (click here to read it).

But excuses don't make our situation any easier to bear (we've now lost 5 league games out of only 11, and our Champions League hopes are hanging by a thin thread). We're nearly a 3rd of the way through the season, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little concerned about our prospects.

It's actually really depressing. I couldn't give a shit about Tomkins article as he puts a silver lining on everything.

We're in real trouble and there's a very real chance we could also be out of the champions league on wednesday night. G+H can't even afford the 18m to sack Benitez.

Very true Marcus, the buck stops with Rafa. His 'tactical' substitutions has become ridiculous year-on-year! Time for a change. 6 years and no leage is long enough.

We are finished.

I miss the days when we used to worry about drawing too many games !

@Marcus - the only consolation from the weekend, was that I didn't get o watch the match :-(

@harold - I know it's pretty frustrating, but at the same time, I'd like to give Rafa a little while longer (this season) to produce the goods...

@Larry - LOL

after the end of last season... i kept thinking of houllier when he guided as to second and then bombed the next season... but lets be honest people... was our start to last season really any better? we were just lucky last season with those comebacks... this time were still playing really bad except for the fact that we got so many more injuries and we dont have those key players to save us from our misery... hey did anyone catch benitez's comments about liverpool not having to win titles to be successful... when you start hearing comments like that from your manager you really start to worry... dark times indeed... and to think i actually believed that something was possible at the beginning of this season...

@suley - the big difference last season was that we were at least getting some points while playing crap ...

As for his comments about not having to win to be successful, he might have a point if we're consistently mounting title challenges and finishing with well over 80 points each season. So far this season doesn't look like ending up that way though...

I, for one, think Liverpool and Benitez will bounce back with a blast and we will start winning and drawin and winning and drawing with a liitle loss every once in a while from now on. OOOOOOHHHH CAMPIONE.....always have limitless faith little people, we're Liverpool and we just don't give up :-)

Oh Isak if only we could all be as optimistic as you, but unfortunatly optisism can only last so long. Barring a major improvement we could have a very short season.... WE LIVE IN HOPE!!!

It's actually quite easy :-) Besides, there's always the next game. Simple as that :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ma3Nax8yyOE Keep up the spirit and hold your head up high

@Isak - I really hope you're right...

@Seamus - ah sure, hopefully it won't end up a short season.
