Hey Robbie - I think you will find that there is a bit of a power struggle at Liverpool FC. Hicks has long backed Benitez and Gillett has long backed Parry. I cant see me ever liking the yanks/muppets, but above all else they better agree on keeping Benitez. It would set the club back many years if we had to start again with another manager and we would probably end up losing Torres in the process.

It's only fair that he would want to have control over who he can sign. Any half decent manager would want the same. We need to have an end to the farce that transfer windows have become with Rick Parry (aka the Clown) in the driving seat. If the manager believes a certain player is what he needs to complete his squad, he should be the one to determine how much he thinks that player is worth. Rafa is pragmatic enough to take into consideration budgetry restrictions. If anyhing the Yanks should be looking at getting rid of Rick Parry who is nothing short of a fucking sycophantic waster.

As much as i have criticised Rafa on this site I feel it would be a tradegy if the club let him leave. He does make some strange decisions at times and frustrates me a lot but he has given the club stability and he has also formed a squad better then any of the last 10 years or so. I blame the yanks for this ongoing saga - just give Rafa what he wants and get on with it. Its Hicks and Gillet that should be out the door, not Rafa. Having said that, i just hope against Everton next week we do not see Torres and Keane on the bench with Kuyt the lone striker. If that happens i may change my mind.
