This is the first time I've accessed this site, having just returned from holiday and being desperate not to miss any proposed testimonial for Sami I googled so here I am! But from what I read nothing is planned for this football legend, forget Liverpool for a second, the guy is sheer class! I cannot think of any contentious behaviour throughout his career, a true role model and someone England's captain could undoubtedly learn a few things from!
I'm still working on convincing my wife that our (unconceived (I think?))first born will be called Sami whether a boy or a girl, I'd settle for naming the dog but that wouldn't be fitting enough for such a hero.

Paul - I get that someone who has served the club for as long as Sami is deserving of a testimonial, but it seems to me that it would be a better fit to have one in 2 years, after he officially retires, and back at Anfield.

@Brink - it's more a length of service thing and at the end of someone's career. Sami is 35 now which for most footballers would be a retirement age. But for Sami he wants to keep going for another couple of years. It's just because he has been with Liverpool for so long and played so well for us that I think most of us would love to see him getting one now while still an LFC player.

@Marcy - I guess we'll all have to find something to do to avoid the withdrawal symptoms becoming too severe over the summer.

Its really disappointing that they havent announced a testimonial yet. If anyone really deserves one, its our Sami. I love that the club has been making multiple statements praising him for his services but I really hope they give him an official testimonial.
