And I was at Anfield for the Hull game last December. At the heart of the Liverpool defence, Hyypia was immense, towering, a colossus that day. Steven Gerrard scored twice, but together with Alonso it was Hyypia who really caught my eye. Seated a few feet away with her dad, was a little girl, not more than 6-7 years old, and she kept shouting "I love you, Sami!"
